A recent survey by Gohop.ie, Ireland’s leading travel company, has revealed that the public’s favourite choice of transport are trains.
The survey asked, “What is your favourite mode of transport?” 44% of those who voted chose trains as their number one choice, with planes coming in second favourite with 37% of the votes.
This means only 19% of people would choose to travel by water.
Train travel tends to be more convenient given the excessive time that it now takes transiting through airport security etc. when travelling by train also gives you the option of taking in the sights of the country you are travelling through. Over-night train journeys have also become very popular as it helps save on accommodation.”
