#Ad to Revenue: Getting It Right as a Creator
Orla Twomey and Justin Walsh
9:00 – 9:40

As content creation continues to evolve, understanding the rules around advertising, gifting and income has never been more important. In this joint session, Orla Twomey and Justin Walsh bring practical insight into regulation and tax — and how the two increasingly overlap for creators working with brands.
Orla Twomey, CEO of the Advertising Standards Authority, returns to further explore how advertising standards apply to creators today, drawing on what has been learned over the past year. She’ll look at transparency, correct ad labelling, and how creators can work confidently with brands while maintaining trust with their audiences, using real-world examples from the past year.
Alongside Orla, Justin Walsh, Branch Manager in Revenue’s Business Division, will outline what Irish influencers and content creators need to know about tax registration and reporting. He’ll explain how non-monetary income, such as gifted trips, stays or products, is treated for tax purposes, and highlight practical guidance published by Revenue in 2025.
Together, Orla and Justin will show where advertising rules and tax obligations intersect, flag common misunderstandings, and share clear, practical advice to help creators navigate this space with confidence.
This is an unmissable session for any creator working with brands or monetising their platform. Places are limited — sign up via the program page on the Meet the Media platform.
