What Did We Do This Month – February 2024

February was a hectic and exciting month for the travelmedia.ie team, marked by a series of impactful events that focused on fostering connections and staying at the forefront of travel media trends.

Meet the Media Pre-Party – A Taste of Portugal

Transforming a typical Irish pub into a Portuguese tasca, we hosted an evening filled with authentic Portuguese music, food, and wine, commemorating 50 years since the Carnation Revolution. The Crafty Fox served Madeira wines and tonics alongside typical Portuguese dishes, creating an inviting ambiance. His Excellency Bernardo Lucena, the Portuguese Ambassador, spoke at the event on the importance of the occasion. The media turnout was impressive, and those in attendance got the opportunity to meet some of the speakers and attendees of Meet the Media 2024 in advance of the event.

Meet the Media 2024

One of the pinnacle events of the month was the much-anticipated Meet the Media 2024. This one-day networking extravaganza, held on February 7th, brought together domestic and international travel trade and travel media. The Radisson Blu Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin, provided the perfect backdrop for over 45 quality travel suppliers and tourist boards to connect with media from Ireland and the UK. The event featured engaging talks and workshops, with notable speakers offering insights into various aspects of the travel industry. Marion Payr shared her experiences on solo travel for women, while Ian Cleary delved into AI-powered tourism. The final speaker, Massimo Marchiori, explored the disruptive impact of technology on media and tourism over the next decade. The event witnessed a remarkable turnout of new media faces and additions to our supplier list. From media talks to a lively after-party, the day was a fantastic blend of information and celebration. Heartfelt thanks to all our suppliers, media, and, Visit Portugal and Costa Del Sol for adding a special touch to Meet the Media 2024. As we reflect on this success, we eagerly look forward to 2025, where we’ll undoubtedly come back bigger and better again!

IMM in London

Our team, represented by Raluca and Sophie, travelled to London on February 19th and 20th for IMM. Over two days, they managed the event’s social media presence, capturing every facet of this international gathering. IMM provided a platform for networking and collaboration, further strengthening relationships within the travel industry.

TTR Roadshow

The TTR Travel Industry Road Show, organized by our sister company, TravelTradeRepresentation.com, hit the road this spring. Visiting Belfast, Dundalk, and Waterford, the roadshow connected 12 suppliers with agents and operators from all over the country, fostering meaningful interactions for all. The event was a huge success and we look forward to hitting the road again in the autumn to visit even more counties.

As February comes to a close, we express our gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of these events. We look forward to all of the exciting events to come in the months ahead.
