The Government of the Canary Islands presents the first European Tourism Islands Convention in Brussels

Last Wednesday the 28th of September the Minister of Tourism, Industry, and Commerce for the Government of the Canary Islands, Yaiza Castilla, presented the first European Tourism Islands Convention in Brussels. The event was organized by the Executive together with Excelcan, la Asociación para la Investigación, el Estudio y la Excelencia del Sector Turístico (the Association for Study and Research into Tourist Sector Excellence). The gathering will take place in the Canary Islands between the 1st of December and December 2.

The event will aimed at European deputies, representatives of the European Union and the media. Discussions will involve deciding if and how a common position among European island territories with regard to the tourism policies of the European Union can be generated. Yaiza Castilla will be accompanied by Santiago Armas, president of Excelcan, and José Carlos Francisco, vice president.
