Pas de la Casa, with 210km of piste in the Grandvalira area, is a popular pick for beginners and groups on a budget. This town has an excellent après scene with music thumping from mid-afternoon. Party hotspots include Paddy’s Irish Pub and Milwaukee bar and there are a range of restaurants to choose from including classic tapas and fine dining. The best bit is that food and drinks cost far less than in other European ski resorts. The Manzano Apartments, which are just a 5-minute walk to the lifts, are a good choice if you want to hit the slopes without breaking the bank.
