Wild Rover Day Tours Plant Over 1,000 Trees with 8 Billion Trees

Wild Rover Tours, the family-owned Irish tour company, are on a mission to create eco-friendly day trips from Dublin. The award-winning day-tour company partnered with 8 Billion Trees, a social enterprise that carry out large-scale tree planting and conservation operations, and have planted over 1,000 trees and saved over 5,500 trees that would have be felled over the past 12 months in areas around the world devastated by irresponsible and reckless deforestation.

Wild Rover Tours is working with 8 Billion Trees to fuel positive environmental change and protect wildlife, building on the award-winning tour company’s efforts to create more eco-friendly day trips from Dublin. 8 Billion Trees are dedicated to restoring our planet and fighting against deforestation and are completely committed to eco-friendly materials and sustainability when creating, packaging, handling and shipping their products.

Since partnering with 8 Billion Trees in June 2020, Wild Rover Tours have removed 48 US tonnes of carbon emissions annually from the atmosphere and are dedicated to quadruple this figure by the end of 2021.

Caring for the environment is at the heart of what Wild Rover Tours do. Managing Director, John Goldrick, explains “Our mission at Wild Rover Tours is to be operationally carbon neutral by the end of 2023, and from there on to be a net contributor in the global efforts to save the planet from environmental catastrophe. We are dedicated to reaching these goals, and to show our commitment, we currently invest more in our day-to-day logistics and operations than any of our competitors.

As well as this partnership, Wild Rover Tours has made efforts to minimise the greenhouse gas emissions generated by their activities. The whole fleet of Wild Rover Tours vehicles are powered by the latest Euro 6 engine technology, thereby minimising carbon emissions. Only the best quality of fuels and oils are used, and the strict a manufacturer’s warranty is observed with each vehicle been serviced every month. The quality of our service and safety of passengers are of paramount ethos to the company which goes hand-in-hand with protecting the environment.

Wild Rover Tours will be welcoming customers back aboard coaches from the 1st of August 2021, with day trips from Dublin running to the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and Galway City, to Kilkenny, Wicklow and Glendalough, and to Belfast and the Giants Causeway. With an eye on the present and to the future Wild Rover Tours will take delivery of three new touring specification mercedes vehicles in July 2021. With the new vehicles the company’s ability to offer exclusive private tours to their customers will be much enhanced. The shorter overnight range of tours will also be introduced to the company’s scheduling in March 2022.

The Irish family-run business has taken multiple steps in response to the current COVID-19 pandemic to ensure the safety of both guests and staff, including limiting passenger capacity per coach and the installation of Eco3 Air Purifier which destroys biological pollutants such as bacteria, viruses, molds, allergens and germs.
