Frightfully Fun Halloween in Store for Athy

Friday, 31st October 2025 — Athy, Co. Kildare:
DUST off your costumes and root out the fake blood – the spooky season is nearly here in Athy! Crowds are set to descend on the town from 6.30pm on Friday, 31st October for the annual Athy Halloween Festival, a spooktacular evening filled with fun, laughter, and excitement for all ages.

This fang-tastic festival promises something for everyone, with highlights including the ever-popular fancy dress parade (with prizes for the best costumes), a pumpkin carving contest for locals eager to show off their skills, and a spine-tingling laser light show sure to delight families and Halloween lovers alike.

Businesses across the town are encouraged to get into the spooky spirit by decorating their shop windows. A prize for Best Window Display will be awarded to the business with the most creative and ghoulish decorations.

“Athy’s Halloween festival is always a memorable fixture on the local calendar, and a lot of hard work goes in behind the scenes to make it such a huge success,” said Cllr Ivan Keatley, Cathaoirleach of Athy Municipal District.

“This October, let your imagination run wild and craft a costume that’s spooky, clever, and eco-friendly. We hope local businesses join in the fun too with some ghoulish decorations on their shop windows. Mark your calendars – it’s going to be a night you won’t want to miss!”

The event is organised by Athy Town Promoters, with the support of volunteers and Athy Municipal District Local Property Tax funding.

Bring the whole family along to enjoy an unforgettable night of festive activities – and best of all, it’s completely free.
