What we did this month – January 2020

From new offices, to new staff, to events, awards and shows, it’s safe to say it’s been a busy start to 2020 for all here at TravelMedia.ie!

So, without further ado, here’s all we got up to during the month of January…

TravelMedia.ie and TTR got a new home

The TravelMedia.ie / Travel Trade Representation (TTR) team moved offices to Iconic Offices – The Greenway, located on St Stephen’s Green, Dublin’s most iconic business address, offering high-end, creative workspace designed for an ambitious community.

“We are delighted to have moved to The Greenway – it is an exciting way to start 2020! With in-house event facilities, a private screening room and conference rooms the move was perfect for the company as it evolves through 2020 and beyond”, said Niamh Waters, Senior Account Manager, TravelMedia.ie

The Greenway is populated by established brands and emerging talent from across a spectrum of industries. TravelMedia.ie and TTR look forward to welcoming industry colleagues for a visit (especially once they hear that there are free beers on tap!).

Attended the Reader Travel Awards

Niamh Waters, Senior Account Manager TravelMedia.ie, was thrilled to attend the at the Mansion House the Independent.ie Reader Travel Awards, on Friday 17th January.

The Reader Travel Awards, was sponsored by Iarnród Éireann, and attracted thousands of reader nominations across 16 categories and the winners were announced at a festive luncheon held at Dublin’s Mansion House.

Hosted by Travel Editor Pól Ó Conghaile and Sinéad Ryan, the awards drew a wide range of travel industry figures, and familiar media faces.

TravelMedia.ie offers our warmest congratulations to all the nominees and winners on the day.

We welcomed a new team member…

We are delighted to welcome Ali Finnegan to the TravelMedia.ie team as Copywriter and Content Executive.

Before joining TravelMedia.ie Ali completed a bachelor’s degree in Gaeilge and Geography in Dublin City University. After discovering her love for all things digital, she went on then to complete the Google Digital Garage Certificate in the Fundamentals in Digital Marketing and study Digital Marketing in Dublin Business School. Most recently, Ali worked as a Digital Marketing Intern for the online meeting-booking tool MeetingSelect. She has a keen interest in content creation and social media advertising and loves everything travel and food related!

Attended the DUB+ Marketing Exchange

Niamh Waters attended the 4th annual DUB+ Partner Marketing Exchange on Thursday, 24th January, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Dublin Airport, a valuable day of insights, and networking was had.

Attended FITUR

Michael attended FITUR, one of the global meeting points for tourism professionals and the leading fair for receptive and issuing markets in Latin America.

The Holiday World Show 2020…

Michael, Niamh and Bronagh also attended Holiday World Show Dublin, with the newest member of TravelMedia.ie – Ali Finnegan, Copywriter and Content Executive.

Bradley International Airport at the Holiday World Show 2020

Bradley International Airport would like to thank their travel industry colleagues and friends for visiting their stand last weekend at Holiday World Show Dublin.

Alisic Sisac (Bradley International Airport), and Michael Collins (TTR) were thrilled to see the appetite the general public and trade have to explore New England and that Bradley International Airport offers travellers a more affordable option to enjoy Northeast USA.

Bradley International Airport were delighted to welcome Ambassador Edward F. Crawford, United States Ambassador to Ireland to their stand.

A warm congratulations to Aer Lingus on winning ‘Best Airline Direct from Ireland to North America’ at the recent ITAA Awards, from all at Bradley International Airport.

Aer Lingus service Bradley International Airport daily from April to September and four times per week from October through March.

Aer Lingus New Uniform Launch

Niamh Waters attended the launch of Aer Lingus’ brand new uniform. The lovely new uniform is the result of a two year poject between Aer Lingus and Louise Kennedy and was showcased in Dublin’s CHQ Building on 15th January.

Bradley International Airport attend Visit USA UK Meet the Media

Bradley International Airport, represented by Michael Collins (TTR), attended the Visit USA UK Meet the Media event at the superb Kimpton Fitzroy London on the 13th January. It was a brilliant event and a great turnout, with attendees such as the British Guild of Travel Writers – Chair, Simon Willmore pictured below with Michael Collins.

It was a busy evening for Bradley International Airport, discussing the Aer Lingus route from Dublin Airport to Hartford, the new A321neoLR, and updating the UK Media on the exciting plans for Bradley International Airport in 2020 and beyond. Many thanks to Visit USA UK for the fantastic evening!

Now that January is done and dusted, we can’t wait to see what February has in store for us – stay tuned!
