Great news as White House announces imminent lifting of Covid 19 Proof of Vaccination requirement
Last week, the office of President Biden announced the imminent removal of the longstanding requirement for international travellers to show proof of vaccination from Covid 19 before entering the United States of America. The United States had been one of few remaining countries still operating Covid related travel restrictions. However, from May 11th, international travellers will no longer be required to prove their vaccinated status before travelling to the US.
In a statement issued last week, the White House said, “we are now in a different phase of our response when these measures are no longer necessary”. Ireland and the United States has a long history of travellers and settlers in both nations with millions of people going between the two countries annually. The proof of vaccination requirement was the final travel barrier for Irish people going to the US and from this Thursday it will now be removed.
