My EU Digital Covid Certificate is Out of Date, What Now?

All travellers to EU member states are now required to have had a second vaccination within nine months of today, Tuesday, 1st of February 2022. Visitors may also provide proof of recovery within the past six months (180 days) or a booster vaccination to travel within the European Union going forward.

Travellers may also receive an updated EU Digital Covid Certificate based on a negative RT-PCR test result through Tropical Medical Bureau (TMB), Ireland’s leading travel medicine clinic group. TMB is listed as a government-approved supplier for the EU Digital Covid Certificate based on negative COVID-19 PCR and Antigen tests. Certificates based on a negative RT-PCR test result are valid for 72 hours after the test was taken.

TMB offer private PCR testing service to patients with same-day results, inclusive of the EU DCC, for €99 at their test centres in Leopardstown Racecourse and TMB Kilkenny, and at selected TMB travel health clinics around Ireland. Antigen tests are available at selected TMB clinics from €45 with results in 30 minutes.

After completing the PCR test with TMB, test results and the EU Digital Covid Certificate will be available for download on the same day via the myTMB web portal. Patients can contact TMB’s expert clinicians with any questions they may have regarding their test results.

Tropical Medical Bureau (TMB) work in partnership with the Irish lab group, PlusVital to process the tests. The sample will undergo laboratory analysis that has a >98% accuracy rate at detecting an active COVID-19 coronavirus infection.
