This week the TravelMedia.ie team are all working from the beautiful city of Athens where the TBEX Europe Conference is taking place. For those of you that don’t know, TBEX is the world’s largest gathering of travel bloggers, writers, and new media content creators.
The TravelMedia.ie team have been embracing all that Athens and TBEX has to offer – including the great parties and events which have been put on by the Athens Convention and Visitors Bureau. TravelMedia.ie were delighted to be asked back as media partners for TBEX for a second year running, with our own Michael Collins being asked back as a speaker. This year, Michael’s choice of topic was – “Travel Bloggers – Be Seen and Be Heard – Dealing with Tourist Boards and Travel PR’s – Advice from the other side of the fence”.
During his breakout session, Michael explained the importance of how you approach tourist boards and travel PR’s, telling bloggers that they must be prepared in advance to stay one step ahead of their competitors. To help bloggers to do this, TravelMedia.ie have spent the last few months speaking with tourist boards and travel PR’s all over the world and finding out what they look for from bloggers. Following this research we created a handy ‘Blogger Checklist” which you can download here.
